Popeye was originally an arcade game based off of the popular spinach-eating sailor man. Nintendo later ported this game to the NES for a small offering to the system owners. Parker Brothers had even created a Popeye board game in 1983 based off of the first level of the Popeye arcade game.
Popeye is a small quick-play game. Complete with only three levels, you have to play Popeye as you collect items (such as hearts) that Olive Oyl throws down to you. Once you have collected all of the items, you've saved Olive. Only problem is that Brutus is hanging around, trying to knock you out of the game. You have to do your best to avoid (or attack) Brutus, even if it means grabbing a can of spinach from somewhere on the playing field.
