Fun House
By Tanooki

In 1990, Hi Tech Expressions decided to do a port of the game show Fun Hose. The first thing is game didn't turn out like the game show (if it did then the creators of the show should be shot).

The graphics in this game are okay but average. First you notice the character is the big red dot that has an arrow on top of his head, that tells you which direction you will be going. The floors are very bland but at least the but a little detail in it. In between levels they have a badly drawn character that is motivating you. The title screen is okay; it's average at best though. As you see they put a bit of effort into the graphics of the game because it goes downhill after this.

The play control in this game is bad. It's way too loose and it results in your character flying all over the place if you don't stop. You press the A button to move. The B button is so you can throw balls and stuff. Heck on time I went to try to get a target and I missed it 2 or 3 times. You have to stop, then choose your direction. Really the less said about the play control the better.

Okay the gameplay is terrible in this game. The object of this game is to hit the targets with the balls and you get a key and you finished the stage. Then you do it over and over until, I don’t know when. If you don't get all the targets in a certain amount of time, you lose a life. Then in later levels you have to hit the targets in a certain order, but they tell you the order, which is kind of stupid. Still giving you the order is better so you won't have to sit though this piece of junk any longer.

The Challenge in this game equals 0. The levels are easy to beat and after awhile you'll get bored. I haven't finished the game but it's just boring is the reason why.

The sound is annoying. The music in the opening is good but it goes downhill after that. The motivation screen music is repetitive and boring after awhile. The music isn’t catchy but if you remember it, you'll want to shoot yourself. The sound affects only represent throwing the ball.

I've decided that my overall rating of this game is going to be about a 2. It seems like they tried to impress people with lackluster graphics and sound, a left out the gameplay, play control, and challenge. Only play this came if you want to die of boredom, which it does very good at. Just try to avoid this game as much as you can.

My Score: 2/10
