Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II
By Powell Angel Dude
As I look back on my childhood, there is always one thing that I will remember. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The cartoon was my favorite show on TV. I had a million action figures. And I also had the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II video game.. This game was originally an arcade game, and as I've learned in the past, arcade ports sometimes come out very bad. But in this case, Ultra did a fantastic job.
The story is a simple one, Shredder kidnapps April O'Neill. And it is up to you to save her. But nobody said this was going to be an easy task. You travel all over New York on your quest. From sewers to bridges. From Parking Lots to Karate Dojo's, this is one crazy adventure. On the way you battle wave after wave of Foot Soldiers. Some with knives, some with spears, and even some on skateboards. And they are all sent to do one thing, destroy you.
At the end of each level you are greeted by a boss. Some of the bosses include, Bebop, Rocksteady, Mecha Turtle, Krang, and even the big man himself, Shredder.
The Technical stiff in this game is very good. The graphics are done superbly, they look very good for a Nintendo game. The music is also done good. They have a different song for each level and each one fits the mood of that level. And the control is fantastic. Like I said before, Ultra did a good job pulling off that Arcade experience.
As I come to a close, let me say that this is one of few arcade ports that I actually like. If you don't have this game, buy it. And if you do have it, good.
My Score: 7/10
