As I was playing Super Mario Bros. 2 one day, this strange thought hit me. I'm sure many of you know how the US release of Super Mario Bros. 2 came about. Nintendo didn't want to release the real SMB2 in America, so they instead took a Japanese game called "Doki Doki Panic," changed some of the graphics (characters) around, and out came the US version of Super Mario Bros. 2. Now here's where my strange thought comes in. What would have happened had they used a different game as the template for the US release of Super Mario Bros. 2?
